The Veterans Independence Program provides non-taxable annual financial assistance to cover the costs of home care services such as yard maintenance, housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care, professional health and support services, as well as home modifications necessary to allow the veteran to perform activities of daily living. This program does not replace other federal, provincial, or municipal programs, but supplements them to meet needs.
